Liberty Tower is a very unique vertically post-tensioned concrete structure. Structural retrofits required a collaborative effort between BARC and Hohbach Lewin to develop a custom solution that satisfies both the rigorous structural requirements and the tight spatial constraints needed to maintain accessibility clearances and building access.

These structural improvements include a mix of concrete brace walls, steel yielding and shear transfer plates, and FRP (fiber reinforced polymer) flexural and shear slip reinforcement.

The project is carefully phased to allow continuous occupancy during construction.
