Saint Joseph's

The Saint Joseph's project encompasses the design and construction of a new 35,752-square-foot Priory building for the Dominican Sisters of San Jose, located in Fremont, CA. Serving as a vital replacement for an aging structure on the historic site, the new facility was conceived to better support the Sisters' evolving needs and daily rituals.

The comprehensive program features 38 new living units thoughtfully designed to offer both privacy and sanctuary. Beyond the private quarters, the architecture prioritizes shared experience by introducing expansive new community gathering spaces and a dedicated wellness center, fostering connection and holistic care within the congregation.

Deeply aligned with our commitment to environmental stewardship, the exterior material palette draws heavily from the existing structures on campus, ensuring this highly efficient addition feels like a natural, inevitable evolution of the site rather than an imposition.
